Evolution of a Library
Because knowledge is power...
Philosophy... The original team of Volunteer Librarians collectively created a Mission Statement for the Library during our first visioning session. One of the volunteers typed it into a document that we hung in the library (pictured right). The Mission Statement reads:
Our library is an energetic, fun, colorful adventure, which expands students’ visions of the world and of themselves.
Our first goal was to nurture in the students a passion for reading and a love of books.
Our other objective was to create positive experiences of libraries for the kids. Although we had rules, the idea was to create a friendly, accessible atmosphere that would encourage the children to continue to visit libraries throughout their lives.
